Question about 2002 GMC Yukon XL
The ABS pump on my GMS Yukon XL (2002) wont shut off. It made a 14 hour drive and now wont quit running. 1) Why? 2) What is the fix? and 3) Do I really need ABS?
Go to www.modulemasters.com
The dealer will charge you $1300 - $2000. Contact Module Masters. They are great to deal with. You have to ship it to Moscow, Idaho. It cost me about $15 to ship it (with box, packing, and insurance at a UPS store). They charged me $130 to rebuild it and gave me a 5 year warranty. It cost $8 to ship it back. To in total, it cost me $153....totally turn-key.

The easiest solution is to locate the abs fuse in the fuse box. Remove that fuse and ABS is now disabled(this will trip you abs light), brakes will function normal but keep in mind you will lock the wheels up under heavy braking. Possible cause are bad abs sensors, or bad abs module. If you don't mind no abs then problem solved, otherwise take it to a shop and have a code pulled from the abs module to diagnose further. Where you off-roading(dirt or mud)?? Sometimes the sensor's get dirty and give false reading.
Good Luck and I hope this helps
