Question about 1998 Honda Accord

1 Answer

Remote starter I recently purchased a 1998 Honda Accord lx with the autostart remote starter; but it doesn't work. I also noticed a small button under the hood with a wire disconnected, I hooked it back up but still nothing. I was also told by a few people the there should be a button under the dash somewhere that maybe shut off, but I have searched for this button without success. Can anyone tell me how I can solve this problem, please?? I would really like to get this working!!! Thank's!

The wire under the hood is for the hood pin switch, this wire when grounded will prevent the remote starter from starting, for trouble shooting I would leave this unhooked and make sure it is not touching any metal, also try to remote start your car with the key in the ignition swich if it remote starts you have a transponder issue if not post me and we can go from there

How to fix a 98' honda accord LX key without remote?

no its not that most likely its faulty ignition circuit but there is no magic fix you'll need to have it troubleshot get an obdII scan from a local repair shop its a sure shot way to find problem if not and you want to save some money on the tow you can purchase a scanner at your local parts store for about the same price as the tow and scan at shop.
