Question about 1995 Honda Accord

Needles on gauges don't light up on my Accord 2.2 LX non-V-tech

I've checked the fuses and relays but found nothing. I think it may be the bulbs behind the needles but I want confirmation before taking the dash apart. Can anyone say any further?

It is the bulbs behind the dash. Not to difficult to take the dash apart, I've done it several times.

Tail lights and dash lights is no working


did you check them in the dark to see if , not just dim?
what sub model, EX, or LX? the LX is very different.
the car has 2 fuse boxes. did you know that, most cars do.
the fuse is called fuse #10 (fuse 10 runs hazards too, are haz dead?)
box one in cab, and 2 in engine bay.
the HAZ fuse is marked, HAZ

park/dash dim all dead, this is the largest path in car, over 20 lamps on most cars. (lots of places to mess up)
all are dead, all parks, front , rear, side and cab (dim) dead??????
even the license plate lamp>>>> details?,,,,, help, im blind..

ok this car can have a tail light relay. the LX dont have one.
the combo switch (1st click ) turns on park(tails)
and the relay energizes and runs all the park lamps.
but not on the LX, the LX is switch direct drive to all parks.
so?????

Daytime running lights not working


Assuming this is an LX, check 7.5A fuses 9 and 5 in the driver's underdash fuse/relay box. Fuse 9 applies power to the DRL indicator light in the gauge assembly which connects to the DRL control unit. Fuse 5 supplies power to the DRL control unit when the ignition is on. Also check 100A fuse 41 in the underhood fuse/relay box which supplies power to the headlight relays. Setting the headlight switch to HEAD causes the headlight relays to close and apply power through 20A fuses 45 and 43 in the underhood fuse/relay box to the low beams. Low beam power also passes through the DRL diode to close the high beam cut relay and prevent high beam use during DRL operation.

What can be the cause of my baterry easily drained or loss of power even though is a newly replaced baterry in my 93 honda accord lx two door..They even check my alternator and they found nothing wrong...


A mechanic would disconnect the battery and check each circuit for a voltage drain by disconnecting the fuses and breakers. Anything with a relay or way to use electricity such as a light bulb or switch can cause a small short to ground or voltage drain.

Defoger relay diagram position on a Honda Accord LX

  • You want to make sure to pull the little plastic pieces up by the rear window to check the plug. if the relay and fuse don't fix your problem. Take a multi-meter and set it to 20 VDC and just probe the ends of the connector[s] for proper voltage.

I got a 2004 chevy trailblazer 4.2l. DRL/lowbeams don't work. All other lights (park lights, high beams, turn signal) work. Driver side DRL bulb blew. Both went out at the same time. Replaced both...


If it is anything like my 04 GMC Sierra, there is a relay panel under the hood. In that underhood box where you found the fuses, there are also relays. They pop out (the diagram is on the lid of the box). After the GMC hit 200k, the relays started going out. The high beams are on a relay, the lowbeams are on a different one. You can pop one out and replace it with the horn or foglight relay if you want to check it out. I am betting that the DRL bulb just happened to go at the same time. Mine go out regularly..I would say around every 10-15k miles. I don't know if this helps, it is just something that I have run across with a similar vehicle.

Problem with the left side brake light


Check your ground connections. If you're burning out bulbs all the time, it's usualy due to a bad ground. Remove the rear fender plasic inside panels and follow the bulb harness to the ground connection. Check for corrosion, if found, clean and use dielectric grease of the ground connection.

Check Engine light and gauge needle lights don't work


there are many common problems with this gauge cluster. yes possible just burnt out bulbs. you need to remove the cluster assembly and check the bulbs.

Hi... i'm new to the foreign car market...


1st check the #4 fuse (10A) and #10 fuse (7.5A) on the 'under-dash' fuse block.
then #9 fuse (10A) on the 'engine bay' fuse block.

if the fuses are good, the gauge assembly has has "self-diagnostic" feature.

Self-diagnostic Procedure

The gauge assembly has a self-diagnosis function.
. The beeper drive circuit check
. The indicator drive circuit check
. The LCD segments check
. The gauges drive circuit check (speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, coolant temperature gauge)
. The communication line check (the coolant temperature signal line between the gauge and ECM/PCM)


Entering the Self-diagnosis Function:
1. Push and hold the trip/reset button.
2. Turn the lighting switch ON.
3. Turn the ignition switch ON (ll).
4. Within 5 sec., turn the lighting switch OFF, then ON and OFF again.
5. Within 5 sec., release the trip/reset button, then push and release the button four times repeatedly.

NOTE:
. While in the self-diagnosis mode, the dash lights brightness controller operates normally.
. While in the self-diagnosis mode, the trip/reset button is used to start the beeper drive circuit test and the gauge drive circuit check.
. lf the vehicle speed exceeds 1.2 mph (2 km/h) or the ignition switch is turned OFF, the self-diagnosis mode ends.

The Beeper Drive Circuit Check:
When entering the self-diagnosis mode, the beeper sounds five times.

The Indicator Drive Circuit Check:
When entering the self-diagnosis mode. the indicators lights (such as: Seat belt indicator light, Door/hatch indicator light, Brake system light. Charging system light, Low fuel indicator light, maintenance required light) blink.

The LCD Segment Check:
When entering the self-diagnosis mode, the odo/trip segment blinks five times.

The Gauge Drive Circuit Check:
When entering the self-diagnosis mode, the speedometer, the tachometer, the fuel gauge, and the coolant
temperature gauge needles go from the minimum position to maximum position, then return to the minimum position.
NOTE:
After the beeper stops sounding and the gauge needles return to the minimum position, pushing the trip/reset button, starts the beeper drive circuit check {one beep), and the gauge drive circuit check again.
The check cannot be started until the gauge needles return to the minimum position.

The Communication Line Gheck:
In the seif-diagnosis mode, after the odo/trip LCD segments check, the self-diagnosis starts the communication line check.
lf all segments comes on, the communication line is OK.
lf the word" Error" is indicated, there is a malfunction in the communication line between the gauge assembly, the multiplex control unit, and the ECM/PCM,

Ending the Self-diagnosis Function:
Turn the ignition switch OFF.

Note: lf the vehicle speed exceeds 1 .2 mph (2 km/h), the self-diagnosis function ends.

If everything works correctly during the check, check your VSS (vehicle speed sensor)
