Question about 1991 Suzuki Swift

1 Answer

Electrical headlights cut out

The headlights cut out and will not work. Both high and low beam not working on either side. Would suggest that it is something to do with the a relay switch. I don’t know where the relay switch is if there is one. Thanks in advance to all that take the time to help me

First check fuses if it is not this you will need to take to an auto electrician to find if there is a short in the headlight circuit

What would cause the low beam headlight not to work when all other lights work?

If you have standard halogen bulbs:

  1. Burned out light bulb; or
  2. Fried wires between the dashboard wiring harness and the headlight bulb connectors; or
  3. Fried headlight bulb connectors.
If you have HEI emitters:
  • Failed ballast.

1998 Lincoln Town Car passenger side headlight low beam only.

Hi Steven, I guess you have checked the fuses? Some time (and I'n not saying this is your problem) the fuses are wired in such a way that if one blows (and the fuse is on the earth side of the circuit) there will be an output, but the circuit will either use the earth through the the other bulb or fail to earth. I would also suggest having a look at the relays and their operation. Lastly, check the earth connections again. Regards John
