lazer itself is not reading the disc, radio and all other appliances are working but not the lazer which reads the disc or the eject button which ejects this disc.

I had a similiar problem with my DENSO unit in my 02 camry...Opened the ECU unit, wrote down the part number for the DVD player/Drive, searched the internet, found a replacement in Singapore, got it shipped, swapped the DVD drive, (requires opening the tiny little connector...with care...and now unit works perfectly.

Denso navigation problem

I had the same problem, and then I figured it out. I unhooked the dvd rom opened up the unit and noticed there were resistors on the board which were burned out and the inside of the housing showed slight signs of oxidation. I came to the conclusion that since the unit was mounted in the trunk the unit malfunctioned from water intrusion or moisture, which shorted out the board. Now I'm searching the web to see if I can find a Denso repair facility.
