If you have old shocks you can measure full out then full in and give that measurement to your lift company of choice. if not then measure from the center of the axle to the top of the wheel well, if your fenders are cut you can measure(on ground) from the top to bottom shock mount and give that measurement to your fav lift shock company. Good Luck

lift shocks are limited as to what you can buy. your choices are nitro, hydro, or dual shock kits. The differences are Hydro are just hydraulic oil filled(basic), nitro are Nitrogen Gas filled(better), or dual shock kits, which are half rate shocks(best, nitro or hyrdo). To find your size, if you have the old shocks you can measure all the way in and all the way out to get a shock size and any lift company (your choice) can tell you from there. if you dont have shocks to measure you can measure from the center of the axle to the top of the wheel wells and give that measurement to the lift company, If you have cut fenders you can jack the frame till the tires are off the ground and get an approximate measurement of the unloaded arch of the springs by measuring from the bolt centerline to the bottom of the spring. Good Luck

How to remove rear springs on Xtrail T31?

Removing these springs is extremely dangerous. You can rent a spring compressor at your local auto parts store. Be aware that changing that tire size also changes your speedometer reading and the handling of the over all truck as well. Shocks may not work properly either. Dig deep into all the things that change. Good Luck

Lift kit removal, chasey to body

before u do this look at the radiator hoses and the fan,the gas filler hose for the gas tank, the steering linkage, tranny linkage and the exhaust manifold, and the brake lines, tires might be over sized too.Because all of these had to be modified when the body was lifted, after u have looked at this an disconnected the necessary ones then and only then u can remove the lift kit,you will need a floor jack and a couple blocks of wood, start by find all your bolts for this you should find depending on the lift kit, neoprene spacers between your body a frame,u will have to go to the dealer to purchase rubber grommets and shorter bolts to replace the spacers, and bolts,u will be taking out , after u have done this start loosening the bolts have your jack ready so u can lift up the body just enough so u can get the spacer out, depending on size of truck u will have 6 to 8 bolts,if your lift kit is higher than 3 in u might want to get two jacks one on the front end and one on the back so u don't bend the body and put unnecessary stress on it and put your truck body down evenly, after u have removed the lift kit and put all your grommets and the new shorter bolts in then u get to reconnect all the things u had to undo at first,ie radiator hoses and the fan,the gas filler hose for the gas tank, the steering linkage, tranny linkage and the exhaust manifold, and the brake lines, tires might be over sized..hope this helps and good luck

I want to know how to lift the front end of my 2000 GMC Sierri but dont want to buy a lift kit

It depends on how many inches you want to lift it. Keeping it simple. replace your shocks with air shocks or better go to and find out about their spring spacers. that way you don't replace your springs or shocks

Rear window of 92 Ford Bronco wont go up or down (power windows)

You need to either replace the motor or get a rebuild kit for the head unit. You remove the motor and take out 2 bolts in the head, use a flat blade screwdriver and hammer the pinched areas to get access to the inside gear. its a nylon gear and has 3 nylon runners inside. yours will prob be in pieces that are mixed with thick grease. best to clean all that out. the rebuild kit is pretty cheap or you can just cut a bolt into 3 similar sizes and drop them in the slots. (just remember the slip action the nylon is a safety feature in case you get your head or arm caught in the window as it closes) the metal pieces make it stronger and more dangerous. Put the head back together, pinch the metal tabs, put it all back on. Same solution will work on the door windows as well.
