When I apply my brakes it shimmy's real bad.

if the vibration only happens when you apply the brakes then you probably have warped rotors that need replacing. however if some front end components are in very bad condition it can also cause this type of condition as the front end will vibrate due to the excess play in the components.

What causes brake shimmy C2500 1991 5.7L?

Brake shimmy is due to hot spots on the rotor or drum the metal is actually hardened in the spots causing friction differences when the brakes are applied causing front end to shimmy . If you have your rotors turned the hot spots are still present so I have always justr replaced rotors pads all at once shimmy gone .

If it is while applying the brakes its a good chance its your brake rotors.

2001 Bonneville steering wheel shimmys very bad when you apply brakes at 50 mph.

99% of the time this condition is caused by out of round brake rotors. You will have to either have the rotors machined if they are thick enough or replace them. If you price them out you will find that machining the rotors will only save you maybe $10-20 each.

Steering wheel shimmys at speeds 35 and up just changed rotors and pads no play in new wheel bearings doesnt shimmy when i brake though. any help would help greatly thanks

If it shimmies with the brakes applied, it's a rotor problem....but like you say, it shimmies just at a certain speed with no brakes applied, check tires for out-of-roundness. If they look ok, you are looking at a balance problem with the tires.

if you are getting a shimmy in the wheel this is a good indication that your front brake rotors are warped and upon replacement the lug nuts should be torqued to 100 ft lbs or they might warp again, also the rear brakes should be checked for correct operation to make sure all the stopping force is not left for the front brakes to handle all by themselves, hope this helps

1997 toyota 4 runner shimmies really bad when braking. Brakes are good and suppect bushings on rack.

Nope, most likely bad tires. I love my yota, spent almost a grand on know it all's looking at the front end and trying to re-ballance bad tires. New tires...drives like brand new.
