Question about 2002 Jaguar X-Type
We have a 2002 jaguar x type with 31667 miles on it. when we try to start the car, it cuts the power, then a message comes up and says "security failed" followed by "transmission fault". my email address is firstname.lastname@example.org my cell phone # is 2082276721 please help! I am supposed to be going home to illinois next week.
Same thing happend to me except the transmission fault. I took my battery off then put it back together and it started right up. This is the second time it has happend to me know.

Yeah the key has a little chip in it that can go bad. it sends a message to the ignition that says its the right key, they are expensive to fix but get it check before you do anything

Did you figure out what it was? It may be your key. Take it to a locksmith, or perhaps get it replaced.
