Question about 1985 Jaguar XJ6
Hi, Is your car an x308 ( V8 ? )I had the same problem with my 1998 X308 , when I tried to unlock the boot with the key ,I could hear that there was something loose ,as if a connecting rod had come loose which joins the lock to the place where your key fits - ( it had !1 ).
On my car there was a hole drilled under the rear numberplate which allowed me to slide a thin bladed screwdriver into the hole and manually release the lock. This may have been done by the previous owner or it may be a factory drilling.
If you are stiil trying to open the boot, please drop me an email to email@example.com and I can either send you a photo of where the hole was drilled or I can give you the exact measurements where it is.
