Know issue, the dealer has some stronger clips, if it still does it use some super glue to keep the clips from poping off.

How to reattach headliner trim around driver side window opening on 2001 vw beetle

You are better off just peeling off the fabris and painting the liner with a flat paint. That is what I did. I tried to spray glue it and it just kept peeling back off.

How do i take headliner off

you have to first remove all the Plastic trim pieces around the head liner that hold it in place including grab handles or clothes hangers then it will come down easily, i recommend having an extra set of hands when you take it down so as not to damage it, then simply slide it out through the rear hatch. it is actually very easy to do.

What glue do I need to use to adhere rear window to convertible top? It is pulling away and I cannot afford a new top just because the glass is pulling away.

You need to cut a small piece of the plastic liner at the bottom. cut about 1/4 inch of just the plastic. not the liner. If you score the plastic half way through then you can snap it off. I put a little glue on the fabric so it does not unravel. THen you need to use a plastic hammer and a piece of wood or plastic and snap the liner back in. It fits in a channel and needs to be snapped in and work your way around until it is all snapped in.

How to remove the headliner and install it

Hello,

When Your head liner starts to sag or You have another nice headliner You want to use in replacing Your old liner, it is actually a good thing. Removing and installing a new one is also a easy task and does not require any form of technicality to do this. Please get these instruments(Replacement headliner fabric, Spray glue adhesive, Screwdriver, Sandpaper, Scissors) and follow the steps below:
  1. Remove everything that bolts into the headliner like visors, lights and coat hooks. These things are normally bolted to the ceiling through the headliner, making it impossible to remove the headliner with these things in place.
  2. Take down the old headliner. You can grab it through the dome light hole or one of the other holes now showing. Be careful not to rip or bend the headliner. Slowly move it towards the rear of the car. You may have to remove some of the molding along the sides of the headliner.
  3. Carefully take the headliner out through a door of the car. You may have to maneuver the headliner around the seats and steering wheel to get it out of a door. Be careful not to bend the headliner.
  4. Peel the fabric off of the shell of the headliner. It should easily come off by pulling it with your hands. Use some sandpaper to remove any foam that remains on the headliner shell.
  5. Lay the new fabric on the headliner in the correct position. Fold half of it back so the shell is visible.
  6. Spray the adhesive glue on the visible side of the shell and on the underside of the fabric. Allow it to set until it has dried some.
  7. Fold the fabric over slowly onto the shell. Smooth out any wrinkles as you go. Work your way to the outer corners of the shell.
  8. Repeat the gluing procedure for the other half of the shell and fabric. Make sure to smooth out any wrinkles so the fabric doesn't completely dry this way.
  9. Trim the left over fabric to 1/4 of an inch long. This will be hidden behind the molding of the car.
  10. Install the headliner using the opposite steps you took to remove it. Slide it back into place, replace the molding and then the visors, lights and coat hooks
Hope this helped. Thank You for using FixYa!!!

2005 Highlander Rear Power Window off track

you may need service. generally, if a window pops off it's track, it's more than some DIYers can handle. if you manage to get the window in the "up" position, and the higlander uses a tailgate-style access to the rear, you lose that access. toyota windows are notorious for popping off their tracks.

2002 vw golf rear windshield washer

the washer pipe will have blown appart.this happens if you opperate the rear washer when it is frozen.it will either be off in the tailgate usually when this happens there is water around the catch when you open the tailgate.or in the headlining in the left rear, have a feel and see if the headlining is wet.to avoid this reoccuring use a good screenwash with frost protection.

Window jumped off window track

drivers window?
the best way to fix it is to replace the window run channel (rubber the glass slides in) and the regulator. or to get by if the regulator isnt bent take the door panel off, take the door glass out, the front of the run channel inside the door is bent foreward a little bend the metal track to the rear a little by hand, careful its weak, spray the run channel with silicone spray and reinstall the glass. if the run channel is torn it wont last.

Convertible top

It worked. Still very stuck with no signs of coming loose and I did it about a month ago. Just dont use too much and apply it with a little paint brush like an artist would use. You can always add more, but if you use too much, it will look messy. I used a little much in two places and when it expanded, you could see the yellow foam it makes at the edge of the fabric. But I just shaved it off with a razor blade and it looks fine. After doing the outside, gluing the glass to the fabric, i also glued the headliner in place as well. I lowered the top a few inches to take the pressure off, and put just a little glue in the track around the inside of the window, then put the edge of the headliner in the track. Left it overnight and it has not come loose since. I think getting this headliner reattached is important cause the headliner actually pulls the glass against the fabric top, which takes pressure off of the glue holding the window in place. In retrospect, maybe if i had fixed the headliner earlier, the window might not have come unglued in the first place. Shame on VW for not dealing with this issue better. Replacing the entire top is ridiculous!
