Question about 1987 Chevrolet Camaro
Not neccesarily timing. It might be timing because you might be firing off TDC, if that is the culprit your engine will be running rough as well.
The hard start it a symptom of the run-on. Your fuel pump turns off (so is not pushing more fuel into the line) but your engine is still pulling fuel out of the line. What's happening is your engine is sucking all the fuel out, so no, your engine isn't getting any gas.
Could also be buildup in the cylinders. Run some high quality fuel system cleaner through with a tank of high octane gas and that should help. I reccomend Seafoam myself.
In any case, your engine isn't getting enough power. Do you have the L4, V6, 305 or 350 (carb or FI)?
