A/C Electronic Dual Climate Control

The passanger side of the car has really cold A/C blowing out of it, but the driver side just has warm air blowing out of it. A/C is fully charged with no leaks. 01 Bonny w/3.8 w/o super. No other problems with system all the other functions work it just wont blow out cold air just on the driver side. Whats the problem? Any help would be great I have been pulling this car apart all day.

ya its electronic dual, the a/c has been fine up till about three days ago when the driver side decided not to work. under the driver dash I have found two electric switch's (black boxes w/plugs) controling some vents. one I can get to, the other is kinda hard to reach but they both seem to work. the one on the bottom i pulled off the switch and it seems to control the air from the vents to the floor. the one on top im not sure i can just watch it move slightly. im guessing there is a third controller there somewhere under the driver side

would you happen to know how many of those are under the driver side? I can only find two and they both work

A/c air blowing warm air driver side/ passenger side cold while a/c running

I would bet that your vehicle has what they call dual climate control. This feature allows for a great variance in tempature from driver to passenger side of the vehicle. Take a look at your owners manual as to how to turn it off. I believe there will be a button on your climate control that says "Dual" hit that button and retry it should answer your problem

Impala has dual climate control. AC blows cold on

with a dual climate control system, it is imperative for a proper refrigerant charge to be maintained. the symptom you describe is a possible indicator of low charge on the system. the ac evaporator core is closest to the right side of vehicle thereby making air feel cooler on that side, on the left side of the vehicle the cooled air has farther to travel and warms up from cabin air before it discharged from the vents. this is the most probable issue for your vehicle...however if the charge is accurate, the issue would be more so in the air temperature doors which is located deep inside the dash...i hope this helps...good luck!
