Question about 1998 Volkswagen Golf
Hi there , i have a 1998 S Reg vw golf 1.6se manual . When we got the car we had a problem where it would nt engage 1st or 2nd gear without a lot of force. Had a mechanic look at it who said the clutch was worn which would explain it if the clutch wasnt releasing properly . After parting with £350 we still have the same problem , although it is easier to engage it is still very diffficult. Looking though the history it had a new gearbox and clutch in 2007. Phoned the garage that carried out the work who said they couldnt find what the problem was and advised the customer to sell the car which they did to old muggins here!!!!! Any help on the subject would be appreciated :-)
Need to have the shift forks look at in trans sounds like when the pedal is depressed clutch is not comming all the way out also if the clutch is not hydrolic then the clutch cable can be adjusted
