I have a 1999 Saturn hatchback. There are three buttons above the stereo. One is for the defroster, one is for the rear defroster and the other one has always been a non-functioning button. In the last two days, the non-functioning button is blinking red for no apparent reason. I do not have my owners manual. Can you tell me what the problem might be or where I can access the owners manual online to read about it? Could it have anything to do with the intrusion alarm. It's been disconnected for some time, though, and I've never seen this light blinking before.

on the drivers side end of the dash there is a removable panel that sometimes says fuses on it. You will need to have the door open to remove it. Once it is off you will see a red reset button. Turn the key on. push the reset button one time, the change oil light should start to blink. if not press it again. Once the change oil light is blinking press and hold the reset button for about 10 seconds. an audible tone will beep three or four times and the light will go out.
I just got this problem too! It is also taking out the radio, the rear window defroster, the ignition, and certain dashboard lights like the oil lamp. The keyfob doesn't work either. I'm searching the net for an answer but I'm suspecting the vehicle security module that controls the locks and cuts the ignition after car is stolen is defective and is causing this. I'm trying to find it and unplug it to see what happens. The unlock and lock relays are at the bottom left of your interior fuse box. I haven't tried pulling them out yet.
