Depending on where the hole is.If the hole is in the trans cooling tube in the tank of the rad it will put trans fluid ito the radiator because it has more pressure than the radiator.
first of all, drain the system by the valve at the bottom of the rad.then take out the cooling fans. then disconnect the transmission cooler lines and the rad. hoses. find the bolts holding the rad. in and remove.
remove the upper rad. support housing remove upper and lower rad hoses sometimes your trans cooling lines are in the left side of the radiator you'll need to disconnect these lines don't loose your o-ring for these lines radiator should lift out its a messy job replace all fluids lost after reassembly
Hi ,
Yes you do have to remove the bumper and ,Air-con rad(do not disconect!!)move to offside carefully still attached and Power steering cooling pipe(do not disconect) move to nearside.Lots to undo but easy enough if car raised on axle stands or ramp.
Good Day;
no the rad is straight up and out: the following is removal of the rad
--access to rad drain **** remove the rad grill
--disconnect electric cooling fan electrical connector, if equipped
--if equipped remove two electric cooling fan mounting bolts. Lift cooling fan straight up until alignment tabs at the bottom are clear of the slots in the bracket at the bottom of rad
--remove the two mechanical (non-electrical) fan shroud mounting bolts, lift shroud straight up until alignment tabs at the bottom are clear of slots in the bracket at the bottom of rad. place shroud over the mechanical fan.
--if equipped disconnect and plug automatic transmission fluid cooler lines, quick connect fitting release tool may be needed. if equipped with a remote transmission cooler, remove the line to cooler from bracket at the bottom of rad.
--disconnect rad upper and lower hoses
--mark the position of the hood latch striker on the rad cross member and remove the striker
--remove the two upper rad upper cross member isolator nuts
--remove the four rad upper cross member bolts and remove the cross member.
--if equipped with air conditioning, separate rad from condenser by removing condenser-to-rad mounting brackets.
--lift the rad straight up and out of the eng compartment.
I hope this helps
I DO NOT THINK SO. IT HAS BEEN A LONG TIME SINCE I WAS UNDER THE HOOD OF A VETTE BUT I THINK YOU CAN DISCONECT IT FROM THE RAD AND SLIDE THE RAD OUT. (BE VERY CAREFUL YOU DO NOT CRIMP ANY CONDENSER LINES)
Remove the rad support cover, remove the electric cooling fan and shroud, disconnect the tranny cooler lines, drain the cooling system, remove the upper and lower hoses, remove the rad brackets on top of the rad (one on each side), have someone hold the AC core out of the way and carefully slide the radiator up and out
