Some cars have tire pressure sensors that can cause an indicator with an exclamation point to appear on the instrument panel.
Check the pressure in all of your tires.
Your car manual (probably crammed into your glove box somewhere) will have a diagram of all the instrument panel lights and a brief description of what they all mean.
Since your question is listed as a 1999 Saturn SL and a Toyota 4Runner, I will answer both:
1999 Saturn SL Typically the orange exclamation point dash warning light is indicating a problem with your brakes, parking or hand brake. Check to ensure that your emergency brake is completely disengaged.
Check to ensure proper brake fluid level.
Otherwise this could be indicating a problem with the ABS system.
04 Toyota 4Runner
Low tire air pressure. Inflate to approximately 32 PSI should correct your problem.
The exclamation point does not mean anything , I assume your engine light is on,then that means you have a problem with the engine /emissions .you need to it diagnosed with a code reader.
That exclamation light on the dash board indicates low tire pressure. Check the air in all your tires and make sure they are all filled to proper levels and it should turn off.
