1999 Volkswagon Jetta Alarm System

The Alarm will sound when you turn the key which does not allow you to start the vehicle

I had a similar problem with my 99 Jetta alarm system.  Even after you attempt to disarm the system the car would not start.  I eventually had to change the entire alarm system.  however, what I did for awhile is open the trunk first to disarm the car alarm; then start the car, which started because the alarm thought it was disarmed, then shut the trunk.  Although this was a quick fix and I still had to eventually change the alarm system.

I had this problem 3 years ago, and it turned out that my battery would not fully charge. A low battery (still charged enough to start) was triggering the alarm all the time.
I got a new battery and it was fixed.

I also have a 99 Jetta and I ran into this problem once or twice. How long do you wait in your car after closing the door before trying to turn it on? I've found that the car sometimes will automatically lock itself and engage the alarm system if you are inside of it for over 30 seconds without making an attempt to start it. When this happened to me, I would hit the unlock button on my keyfab twice and then attempt to start the car. Lemme know if this works for you!

My 2005 town and country alarm is activated and will not allow us to start the van. how do we dis alarm the alarm system

Before removing your factory alarm call a locksmith and ask him if can reprogram your car key. Is most likely your car computer no longer recognize your key I know this sounds weird but most cars this days have a chip on the key it self whit the car vin number and some other information. Is an anti theft feature. If the computer do not recognize your key it wont let you start the car even if you are able to turn the key.

My 1999 jetta remote has stopped working.

you should be able to turn off alarm via key in drivers door if not test all doors to make sure they unlock. if any door will not lock that door latch will need replaced if work ok then try disarming alarm from trunk key or from the passanger door. if that works, you may need to have the key recoded to the car.
