Question about 2004 Chrysler Sebring

1 Answer

I changed my spark plugs & wires and now the check engine light is on. We took it to auto zone and had it tested and it says that it is a cylinder 4 misfire. We made sure that everything is tight and tested the power pack and everything is fine. Now it also feels like it is going to stall what can I do to fix this problem?

Make sure all the wires snapped into place securely. Check the wires one by one. Replace with the old one if necessary for elimination purposes. I know you said you bought new wires but one of them may be defective.

All I am getting from your discription, is that you
have a code & a misfire ,you have yet to diagnose.

Except for replacing the wires, that should last the life
of the car,your doing okey

You now are embarking on throwing parts at it,
not diagnosing.

I can't tell you how to continue,as I don't know
if have any test equip or skills required.

You may have a bad ignition module or other
issues

Again,test,don't install 1 part,unless something
tests bad.

yes i would change the plug wires , you can take a spray bottal with water and spray that wire, and if it starts to run real bad then it is shorting out, you may also have a injector going bad you can test this buy puting a ohms meter on it and ck the ohms it should read the same or close to the same as the other if not it will need replaced

I have a car in the shop right now same thing - it is being caused by a misfire. Need a real technition to diagnose the problem (auto zone - advance auto can't diagnose the problem - only read the code)
mine was caused by a failing fuel injector. good luck
