At 119,888 kms, took my 2007 Caliber SXT into the dealership. The engine check lite came on. There was pinging inside the engine at startup for about a week. Serviceman- do not worry unless the lite comes on. Now the lite is on. They have had my car for 3 1/2 weeks. Needs new pistons, rings, rods and bearings. All parts are blackened, all rings are stuck in on the pistons. Was it engine wear or computer malfunction ?

please ask an independant mechanic to have a look because i have never worked on one here in europe ,i am thinking they want to replace the O2 sensor which is in the manifold and you may have got it wrong
It only has the tube, the dealership has a dipstick to check it. It has to be checked with a scan tool hooked to the vehicle so they can read trans fluid temp. This is why you no longer get the dipstick with the car
