Service light The service light came on in my car, i had the car serviced, but the service light is still on. The light that is on is the - " MAINT REQ'D" service light. How do i reset this maintenance required light? Thank you.

The '91 & newer models turned the maint, req. light on by a timer in the ECU & the ECU turns it on around 120k miles based on a timer and requires a dealer or shop visit to be reset.But it isnt going to hurt anything by being on.

Basically means you need service (oil change). Below is a description of the light. Also below is instructions on how to reset the light so it will not stay on but suggest if you haven't had it serviced you do so. I hope this helps and good luck

When a Honda Maint Req light blinks, but then stops, it is telling you to change your oil. If you don't change it, eventually, the maint req light will stay on. Here is how you reset the maint req light: 1) Turn they key to the II position
2) Turn the key to the off position, and push and hold in the odometer reset button
3) Turn they key back to the II position, while still holding the odometer button.
4) After about 10-15 seconds, the light should go off.
If that doesn't work, try it this way: p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Verdana}

With the igniition off, press and hold the odometer button, turn the key to the "on" position, but do not start the car. Keep the odometer button down until the oil light begins and ends flashing. Turn the key off, and then start car to see if it worked or not.

you need to reset it. by having key turn off and pushing the trip reset button on the dash. then turn key on and the light should blink and go out after a while keep holding button tell it goes out

THE REQ MAINT LIGHT COMES ON TO TELL YOU THE CAR IS DUE ITS NEXT SERVICE within 800 miles.

That warning light usually only service (oil change) reminder.

There are manufacturer recomended service/maintence requirements at
certain mileage intervals. These are programed into the cars computer.
The light is to remind you, that you have reached or close to one of these intervals. There should be a maint. schedule with the owners
manual, that describes the type of service required, at your mileage.
If you just want to turn off the light. Stop by any major parts store and
they will clear the code. Usually for free. Hope this helps.

They must have forgotten to reset the light. If you take a look in the service manual it should tell you how to reset it. With most hondas you simply hold the trip reset button and turn the ignition on. Continue holding the trip reset button until the light turns off.

That is for oil changes. It come on when the oil change is due.
When you have your oil change done, the lube tech should reset the this light every time.
