'96 Ford Expl. Door Locks Problem

The door locks work on 3 door s, except the right passenger door. Makes a "clicking" sound as if it wants to unlock - but it's a "no go" Any advise? Is it the 30amp fuse?

I am having trouble with the drivers side doorlock on my '96 F250. It is going crazy, will not stop clicking and it also does not work. It never stops clicking and making noise, could it be a ground problem??? Any help would be great.

When this happened to my Explorer, I had to replce the lock mechanism. It was not very hard to do and the part only cost about sixty bucks from the dealer.

You'll need to replace the solenoid (motor) that doesn't work. Not hard once you get the door panel off. I suggest you buy the correct part, not a universal one.

I would follow their recommendation as I had the same problem with my car. They unhooked the power to that door and it was fine. The problem was a short in the wiring in the door that was causing the problem. So maybe get them to check the wiring in the door as well.

One of your door lock inside switches are bad.Find the one that doesn't feel right when you push it in either lock or unlock. The internal spring is broke causing the lock relay to keep try to lock or unlock until it gets hot & protects.
