Call your honda dealer on a 2001 you hold 1 and 6 down and the two codes show up then call that to the dealer and they may require some registration information but they can get the code that way. If you cant get the radio 8 digit codes you may have to remove the radio the numbers are on the radio and you call them into honda parts and they will get the code after you give the ownership info.

Hi,

If you bought the car originally from a Honda dealer, there is a way to obtain the code for free as Honda are one of the few manufacturers to provide online support to customers on this issue. Your original purchase of the car must be through the Honda network for it to work though.

For more information on this please view this FixYa Tip

If you bought your car privately or through a non Honda dealer, the only other option is to try your local Honda dealer for the information.

Hope it helps. Thanks for using FixYa

This solution is marked unhelpful by someone because it is given completely free of charge? Because it points to a completely free way to get the code for your Honda radio direct from the manufacturer? Because it is a driveby by someone with nothing better to do with themselves?

I need a code or whatever to get my radio on after repairs

Hello, Dixie -

The resetting code for your car radio should be with the owner's manual and other documentation that came with your car. The instructions for resetting the radio will be in the owner's manual.

If you don't happen to have that, then, you will need to contact an automobile dealership which sells your make of car.

When you find the code or obtain one from a dealership, I suggest you do what I have done: write the code inside your owner's manual on the page with the instructions for resetting the radio, so you will be able to reset the radio again, whenever needed. Note: When the car battery is replaced will be another time you will have to reset the radio.

Reset the Radio on your 2001-2005 Honda Civic

If the radio on your 2001-2005 Honda Civic (as well as some other Honda products) has lost power for any reason (i.e. dead battery, blown fuse, etc), you will need to enter the reset code.

The reset code for the factory installed radio is located in the glove box. Open the compartment; On the back of the door, usually near the left side, there should be a small white sticker. The sticker has one alph-numeric set and one set containing five numeric digits. The number set with five digits is the reset code for your factory installed radio.

Turn on the radio. When you see "CODE", use the corresponding station pre-set buttons to enter the code. If entered correctly, the radio should active immediately.

Code radio

In the owners maunel you should have a card with the radio code on it.

The radio will only display EEE or OFF when the wrong code has been entered and the radio is locked depending on model - this is due to the battery being disconnected and the incorrect radio code being entered 3 times. You will neet to reset the radio. To do this the radio has to be on for either 2 or 4 hours - see the manual for your model. If you got the code from a card from Volvo, and it didn't work, then the radio has been changed or it has been reset by the dealer and your current code is invalid. You will have to pull the radio and find the serial & model number, and get Volvo to look up the code for that radio or the dealer may be able to lookup the radio code via vin# from Volvo. The dealer can reset the radio and enter a new code. When the radio is "ready" to accept an unlock code the display will say "codE". You will need this code if your battery is ever disconnected.

Resetting radio code

You need to be very careful Each failed attempt causes a long delay before you can enter it again. Follow the instructions exactly. You may need to use the car for a day or more before attempting it again if you failed too many times. The radio should say CODE not ERROR. Error means no code can be entered now. You must wait until the radio displays CODE.

My battery died I replace the battery and now radio do not except a code.

If the radio will not except the codes because radio codes was attempted to many times, you can reset the radio by disconnecting the battery for 30 seconds and the radio will reset it self for you to re-enter the radio code. Good luck and keep me posted.

Code for radio, changed battery and now no power

Check the manuel, the code may have been written in there and give you the instructions to resetting the radio, and check for a sticker in the glove box for the radio code. If you have a good relationship with the dealer they may even help you reset your radio without a fee or minimal amount.
Good luck and if that does not help you and they want a crazy amount to reset the radio try www.radio-code.com. Keep me posted
