On the top of the engine with the fuel injectors attached to it. But why no just press the schrader valve at the rail and see if fuel comes out, or better yet buy a can of starting fluid and spray it into the engine and see if it starts and dies, if it does you are not getting fuel.
This truck uses a small electric fuel pump that is located inside the fuel tank, it is cooled by the gas it is immersed in, so when you run the tank dry it severely overheats the fuel pump and many times it can seize up. The way to see if the pump has failed and you have no fuel reaching the engine is to spray starting fluid into the air filter and if the engine starts you need to pull the fuel tank and replace the fuel pump assembly.
IT ONLY TAKES GAS,SPARK AND COMPRESSION TO START. EVEN THOUGH U ARE GETTING GAS UP TO THE RAIL U NEED TO GET SOME NOID LIGHTS. YOUR LOCAL PART STORE CAN RENT THEM TO U. SOUNDS TO ME LIKE THE INJECTORS MAY NOT BE PULSING. SO U MAY HAVE A BROKEN WIRE,IGNITION MODULE PROBLEM OR ECM ISSUE.
Your problem my friend is the fuel pump. These go out and your dead in the water. If all electrical systems seem fine and no warning light then I would highly suspect the fuel pump. Can you have someone get in and turn the key on and then turn it over while your looking into the throttle body, check and see if your getting gas, if none then it.s the pump. You can also try a LITTLE bit of starting fluid in the breather and it should try to start or may even run a few seconds, again this points to the pump or a completely clogged fuel filter. The pump is located in the gas tank just so you know.
Try starting it with the throttle open all the way. It may have to much fuel in the cylinders. If it acts like it wants to start or starts and dies replace the spark plugs, they are probably gas fouled.
there is multiple things it could be, sounds like a fuel problem. check to see if its getting fuel, or have someone with you and spray starting fluid in the throttlebody when it starts, if you can keep it runnin like that you know its a fuel issue.
is it gettingf gas? use starting fluid from the local parts store (about $4) to spray into the air intake hose to the engine, if it starts for a quick second then you have no fuel and almost certainly need a fuel pump, the fuel pump is electric and is located inside the fuel tank, the tank must be removed to replace the fuel pump module aswsembly.
Looks like your problem is fuel related. A quick test is to spray starting fluid in it . If it starts and goes dead it is fuel related. Check your fuel pump relay and fuse.If it checks out good replace the fuel pump
turn the key to acc mode and if the check engine light is on then the computer is working. check for spark. listen for the fuel pump to turn on its in the back passenger side if both those work and you didnt mess with distributor plugs rotor or cap then you may have to bypass it. or the fuel injector could be clogged. take off the metal air intake to get to the fuel injector and pour a little gas directaly in and see if it starts. if fuel pump spark and pouring gas into were the fuel injector is then it might be a bad fuel injector or it needs to be bypassed.
you can be getting fuel but it has to be enough pressure to operate injectors. this can only be determined with a gage..does it fire if u spray starting fluid in the intake and crank ? if so u havent enough pressure from pump.
