Check the door lock mechanism. One way, not 100% is to unlock the car, open one door and close it. Wait to see if the car lock back by itself. If it does, the lock mechanism is bad on that door. Do it for all other doors. You can also check CCM (controll convenience modul). It is located under left front set under carpet. Somethimes water can get to it and damage contacts. I can post you some links to detailed description of checking CCM and door lock.

I ended up having two new steering column parts (to do with the alarm??!!) and a new drivers door lock. The problem did start when I used the windows up/down function from the remote. Now you metion it, the alarm could hardly be heard from 30 feet away.

Do you have the remote programmed for the auto up and auto down on the windows if you hold the remote button?

I don't have that...but have heard that feature tends to cause problems like that.

Is the alarm sound muffled?

My car alarm on a passat tdi diesel 02 plate keeps going off , i have reset it , started the engine , still keeps going off

these passats where prone for this. they had an issue with the plenham chamber drains blocking and filling the chamber up with water. this would then leak thru the pollen filter housing seal into the passenger foot well . the control unit for your alarm/central locking is under the passenger carpet (of all places). The carpet & underlay is very thick so even if it feels dry on top it could be soaking wet underneath . lift the carpet, check the control unit, in particular the wiring plug for signs of corrosion. there is also an earth point there, where there will be 3 or 4 wires bolted to the body, examine this as well. if corrosion is evident, the control unit itself may well be knackered, but try drying/cleaning up first

2004 passat highline tdi, alarm keeps going off for no reason and cant deactivate it by pressing the lock button twice like it says to in the manual,, where is the fuse?????

You could have a problem if you remove the fuse .It is located on the drivers side dashboard. The alarm most likly means you need a drivers side door lock actuator. The convenience computer controls many accessory's. If the alarm keeeps going off try to turn it off by turning the trunk lock to off.It is easy to find the problem with the proper factory scan tool. It will show a code and with the code you can fix the problem www.GermanCarDepot.com

My wife is stuck at the airport. the key fob on

On the driver's side door handle, there is a cap covering the key hole on the right side. On the bottom of the cap is a small ****. Use the valet key to pry it up and off. Then you may open the door, most likely sounding the alarm, so you will need to insert the remote in the ignition to stop the NOISE!!!! Hope this helps. This is how I lock my remote away when I go somewhere to run.

My 2006 hyundai sonata alarm keeps going off

One word:

Dealer.

Next time just disconnect the battery until you get it towed as this is a warranty item. I'll bet some wondered if this was a prank question like I did, right?
