SOURCE: BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON ENGINE RUNNING BUT CAR WONT DRIVE

there is a button on your brake pedal lever that while braking gets depressed, and turns on your brake lights. Now this component is a plastic piece that can get knocked loose rather simply. You either need to re-secure this component, or replace it

(you can get this part at any junk yard for nothing more than some pocket change)

I have a 2005 Chevy Malibu wont stay running. Have replaced the battery and starter and had the alternator checked still wont stay running

as part of the solution i first must ask, is the check engine light on? if not, it may just be time for general maintenance (spark plugs, wires, throttle body cleaning, injector system cleaning). second, while running and running in idle, is the idle varying (continually reving up and down), rough, low or none of the above? answer back and i can help out a little more.

First check all the duct work around the engine..Like the air filter box,and all connections around it..If nothing found it could be your idle air control valve..Its located on your throttle body

The car wont stay started i unhoked the battery and now thats happing

What your describing doesn't usually happen. Did you touch the power cable to the negative cable? Is the engine light staying on while it is running? If the ECM is in default for some reason then you can try to feather the gas pedal until it runs on its own. Usually running it and/or driving it can help it come out of it. But if the engine light is on then you will want to have it scanned to help understand the problem the ECM is identifying.
