Question about Peugeot Liberte

1 Answer

Smoke problem started to give smoke, when I drive fast no smoke power is ok, no loosing oil, no loosing water BUT when stop and leave the engine running, after 15 minuts the grey smoke starts to build up very badly, Now after two months I was driving down, first time she started to loose the power then the engine cut off, then I called AA , he checked the wire plug feeding to fule pump, he found no power going to fule pump. Can any body let me know that what this problem could be and the best solution please. THANKS I have changed the Air flow sensor already.

Hi, Thank you very much for your advice ,now I have found that 02 fuel injectors are leeking and the next problem would be to take them out because most time they get stuck and there is no solution to take them out then you have to put new head in,which is too expensive.

Hey
there are couple of smoke type.blue smoke is oil, black smoke is fuel, and white smoke is water, if it clears after starting and running a few minutes it's probably your valve guide seals leaking oil down on top of your pistons, causing it to smoke until burned off and foul your plugs.

00linc ls v8 240k miles little Skip off and on at times loosing water can't locate leek . could it be a head gasket going bad oil look OK not milky looking

Leaks are most common at hose connections, within the heater core, the radiator, or at the water pump. The water pump has a drain hole under the shaft that allows water to leak out when the bearing is getting bad. This is supposed to tell you to replace the pump. Unfortunately, many drivers fail to regularly inspect the engine compartment, and even when they do, often the coolant evaporated on the engine block leaving little or no residue to allow for detection. Seepage at hose connections can have the same results. The heater core leaking often runs out the firewall with the condensate from the A/C unit, so it is often missed. If you have no milky oil, then the head gasket isn't blown into the oil gallery. But you can have a head gasket blow directly into the cylinder(s) themselves. This will cause a white smoke from the tailpipe when running. Do not confuse this with the white smoke that comes with a early morning startup. This smoke is due to moisture that builds up in the muffler and is normal, but will stop after a few minutes. If the engine produces white smoke during normal driving under acceleration, then have it checked. You may be able to detect a slight smell of antifreeze from the tailpipe in this condition.

Intercooled 3.1 1996 horizson. replaced turbo. still getting white smoke. water is overheating with in 10mins of driving. losing half to one litre oil.

the HONDA Horizon (Isuzu wonder box)
what engine. exactly .?
3.2 L 6VD1 SOHC V6
3.2 L 6VD1 DOHC V6
3.5 L 6VE1 DOHC V6
3.0 L 4JX1 TD I4
3.1 L 4JG2 TD I4
x1 or G2?

floods, wot cranking cuts fuel and starts any flooded engine,
it's overheating that wins the First order failures rule sets.
nothing else matters. cure that first.! find cause! first.

sounds (im deaf there, lol) that smoke is out tail pipe end and dissipates fast and is not smoke but steam, , oil smoke smells like burning oil and lingers. steam smells sweet like burning Antifreeze.
AF steam is a blown head gasket or far worse.
do a compression test first to see if it's even worth fixing????
most are NOT. (unless free labor, sure)

first learn steam from smoke
serious , watch moms tea pot. see that steam goes away fast.and very uniquely , now watch burning oil.
remove dip stick, drop the drip of oil on hot exhaust manifold.
smell that, that is oil burning, and lingers.
this will last you a life time of blown engines..... just one look and bingo. (my instructor in 1965 did in front of class)

got oil in the AF/ CARBON chunks in same.
water in oil, ? pan, engine . milky oil.
rad leak down test fail? can be lots of reasons even a cracked block.or head. not just gaskets.

White Smoke Coming from Engine?

It sounds like you need a good mechanic to fix your oil leaks. It's probably the valve cover gasket leaking oil on the cylinder head and it's running down on the hot exhaust manifold.

There is either A).an oil leak or B). the smoke is from residue oil spilled on exhaust and such during the repair. Crank the engine and look everywhere for an evident oil leak if one is not found leave it run till it gets hot enough to show where the white smoke is coming from and see then if it is residue or a new leak. This widespread problem is the one part no one thinks of: ENGINE VACUUM PUMP.it runs mechanically off camshaft;once seal leaks, oil from camshaft housing enters vac oump and becomes ingested by engine, therefore exiting tailpipe, water accumulation in by product of catalytic converter changing smog/carbon to water/vapor.REPLACE VAC PUMP AND SEAL ,SMOKE WILL STOP!!!!

White cloud of smoke through tailpipe

well I'd say that coolant is definitely leaking into the combustion chamber, albeit at a slow rate (for now). It could be anything from a blown head gasket to a cracked block or head. I'd get it to a shop as soon as possible and not drive it any more than need be until that point.

do you change the engine oil your car crosses the maximum miles with the old engine oil once your engine oil density become very low you will get the black smoke (or) you need to check the radiator water wether water and coolant is in correct level or not if it is in correct level you need to change the oil

check if there is visible smoke coming out of the exhaust after using your car for like an hour. If there is visible smoke your car's engine is probably leaking oil from the inside. You need to have your engine rebuilt. If the theres no visible smoke, try to check if your car is loosing water from the water reservoir really fast. Also, check if your radiator fan is still okay.
