I've noticed a clear liquid on the floor of my cab and am wondering what it might be. It appears to be coming from about the center of the firewall and then running towards the passenger side. I am also experiencing trouble with my clutch, could these be related?

How do i change the filter on chevy transmission

remove pan, careful to catch a lot of fluid as it comes out.
Filter is flat and large... just pull it straight down and pop the new one in.
install new gasket material on the clean pan and google the torque specs for the pan.
Add clean fluid to trans and ur done.

There should be a plug in the side of the transmission you take out to check the fluid level. The fluid should be near that plug. That is also where you add fluid if it is low.

ck fluid level, see if fluid burnt, if low fill, if dirty or burnt replace fluid if this dont help have scanned for any trans codes. if no codes then trans needs ck by a dealer or trans shop.

The transmission goes into reverse but only backs up on a slope or at a high rpm

The trans fluid is probably low. If not, then the trans needs the filter changed, or worst case, to be swapped out or rebuilt.

Transmission leaking out the holes in the bottom of the transmission when running truck was being operated and i was told that it was not operating normal so checked the tranny and added fluid about 2...

Your pump seal is leaking and is causing you to lose pressure and fluid. Do not drive it! You will burn up the clutches as the pressure with be low and will not fully apply the clutches. Transmision must be pulled to replace.

I have a 1994 Chevy 2500 2 wheel drive. It shifts hard from 1st to second. If also will not drop down into a passing gear when you mash on the accelerator. Any Ideas?

do you have any trans related trouble codes, this trans has electronic shift control so u may have a solenoid sticking or a valve body issue, has the fluid ever been changed along with the filter? this is due every 60,000 miles, this has cured the problem in many cases like yours, fluid wears out (friction modifiers) and can cause harsh shifts.

When driving at 40 and accelarate the revs go up quickly but the speed hardly changes

you indicate you may have a slipping transmision, check fluid levels , check for dirty transfluid that smell of dirty dishwater or burnt smell, sounds like it is a trans problem for sure, anytime the revs go up and vehicle speed does not change then it points to a trans problem...could be torque converter and or bad worn clutches in trans or even low trans fluid pressures...

1991 Chevy K1500 4wd transmission stuck

More than likely the trans is not stuck in neutral, it could possibly be low on fluid. That is the first thing I would check. If it is full then try putting the transfer case into 4X4 high and then low and see if it will move. If it does after you do this, then the problem would be inside of the transfer case. If it does not move in any gear it would more than likely be a internal failure of the trans.

Power steering fluid

Just regular power steering fluid from the part store or Dexron3 Automatic Trans fluid. It is filled with ATF from the factory.
