My 2005 z4's battery indicator color is black. Which means it is insufficiently charged. We tried to series it to another car's battery and drove it for an hour or so, hoping it will charge. When we got home, we stopped and turned the engine off. We tried starting it again but it didn't work. Do I need to have it charged at a battery store or does it need replacement already.

The battery light is normally a sign of a charging issue. Have the charging system checked.

OK, long story but here it goes (hopefully the length will help with ... I hook the jumpstarter up to the battery, let it sit 1-2 minutes, then ... The AZ rep. tells me that my battery is at 9V and this is why my car .... Mein Auto: 2004 X3 2.5i ... If battery is original (2005) it is more than likely one cell has shorted out. Z4 starter motor and related problems.

I could not start my Z this morning after not driving it for the past 4 days because of the weather. All lights come on the dash including the head lights but it won't crank. ... If the starter is not cranking because of the battery being too drained .... BMW Z4 2.5i started slow and finally would make a clicking noise.

Chances are sticking motor in starter
try tapping the starter motor and re-start the car again.

that will confirm if its defiantly starter

no thats's just a futuristic name given by BMW. otherwise it doesn't mean the pattern that ur suggesting.

Try resetting the alternator, if that doesn't work try changing the battery

Check the bushings in the wheel well that is making the noise - it could be a ball joint, sway bar end link, control arm link, or even an upper strut mount. Lots of things can cause the noises like that, but usually they're not too hard to see - failing bushings usually have visible tears and/or leakage of fluid.

Take the battery to be tested.. A typical life span of a battery is around 3 years and it might need to be replaced.. Be sure the connections on the battery are very sucure.. if they are loose the battery will not charge properly.. If the battery is good - have the charging sytem tested.. It could be a bad altimator..

If it's like my 2006 Z4 key you don't replace the battery. It has an internal rechargeable battery that charges when the key is in the ignition. Not sure how to replace the battery if it won't charge.

i would get your battery tested if it is fine and your car still dont start you have a starter motor problem personaly i would ignor the green indicator
