Hi Michael If you have little Knowledge in mechanics do not attempt repair. The engine if fitted with timing chains has 1 belt which drives the alternator and air con if fitted via the crank pully. Your question should be how many timing chains. answer 2. one drives the two cams the other drives the water pump and 2 balance shafts. The job is awkward and you will need to know what you are doing and great care needs to be taken when refitting crank pully. Damage to crankshaft is possible. Rattle type noise would have been audible before engine failure. If your engine is of the cambelt type it will have one belt driving water pump and cams. sorry to be a bit vague on engine type its just that you mentioned both belt and chains . Engine with chains will normally have an alloy silver front cover with a noticable small cover fitted to the rear of that front cover hiding the water pump drive. Cambelt type will have a black plastic cover. "Advise" puting into Dealer for correct diagnosis. Good luck
hi from uk fortunately the water pump on your car is not driven by cambelt ! the pump is driven by serp belt the pumps location is = if you look at front of engine view from front wing as you look down front you will see a large pully on left of cambelt covers and this is the water pump access to pump is best by supporting car and removing wheel and then the under wing cover that is secured by screws some advice for you if you intend renewing pump the pump pully is secured by 4 bolts use a 10 mm cranked ring spanner or socket loosen these bolts before you remove the drivebelt as belt holds pully and helps to prevent pully turning as you try to loosen these bolts hope this helps ?
