If car drives and feels normal it could be just a bad sending unit but things need to be checked. The sending unit can be unscrewed and a gauge attached to see actual pressure if pressure is good change sending unit if it's not.... Easiest and cheapest is SEAFOAM. LUCAS also makes a good product to raise oil pressure
The 1% is for the oil life not the level. This means it is time to have your oil changed, and if it was just changed then the light needs to be reset in the message center
super easy. gm did 2 things. in the fuse panel drivers door. there is a reset button. this resets for oil change light and low tire pressure. with key on hit the button, one of these light will be flashing, keep hitting it til change oil light is flashing. once it is flashing hold reset button til car dings and light stops flashing. done. if you have no reset button then turn key on press gas pedal fully down three times within three seconds of eachother light will flash and go out. good luck. these procedures are also in your owners manual.
Either the engine oil pump is worn, or the engine oil filter is clogged.
This happened on my 1997 Cadillac Deville. After changing the oil and filter, and putting the proper viscosity oil in, the problem immediately ceased.
Pull the oil dipstick out and check the engine oil level indicated on the dipstick.
Or have your engine oil changed, your oil life may be up! Good luck !
On a Envoy you turn the key to run but don't start it. Then push and release the gas pedal 3 times within 5 seconds. The change engine oil light should blink for 5 seconds meaning you have reset the system. If it doesn't blink for you do the procedure again.
Most likely ignition switch has gone bad. Don't need to worry about oil pressure light IF the motor is not running, but IF it IS running, shut down motor immediately until oil pressure can be verified with an external gauge.
good luck
