The wiring diagram shows the wiring color code, Power rating
and connector plug used. The wiring diagram explains the vehicle's electrical
connections with color code. It's a bit complicated to understand.
I believe that the 2nd black wire is a dedicated ground. Three wire has this: Signal - Heater - Ground but the 4 wire has: Signal - Heater - Heater Ground - Signal Ground
I think you can just splice the two black wires together to make a common ground. Personally I'd just try to find a 3-wire replacement for ease sake but I think you can adapt a 4 wire just fine as well.
you will need the wiring diagram for the car the oxygen sensor has 4 wires two white which are the heater one positive one negative it doesn't matter which is which the black is ground the gray is the signal wire some have a blue wire black is always ground the blue would be sensor hope this helps
you got to check the manual from the manufacturer and then check the blue wire is usually the feed back wire to the ecu and the black is the power wire to batt...you have to ask the peeps you got the sensor from for what the grey and black do... ? but I know in japanease cars the black is the power.....
check the car wires by using voltmeter on volts put one lead on your battery + and put one on each wire end from the engine one will change as you rev thats the feed back wire to the ecu... just do black power and grey to where the blue was..fixed..!!
