Take it to a dealer and let them do it. I suggest you not to try this by yourself, because if you don't have the proper training you could set the new one off after you hook it up, and it may harm you in any extreme if it hit you in the face close range like that. So, unless you are trained on them, please don't try it by yourself. They can break noses and limbs even when operating normally. Let a professional do it.

Lost key to deactivate passenger airbag

Hello, I'm not quite sure I understand your problem. The passenger side airbag is turned off with the same key it takes to start the vehicle. Just insert the key, push it in a bit and turn it to the OFF position. It should light up to alert you the air bag is deactivated.

Were is the computer for a 1999 honda accord lx airbag located

Hello,

The ECU controls the airbag. If you are looking for the ECU. Its located at the front passenger side under dash. Its being concealed by the kick panel. You can easily take out the kick panel by prying it off.

I hope this helps. Thanks and have a nice day.

2000 Chevrolet Malibu LS airbag problems

The passenger side airbag is a lot easier then driver side. Take the glove box out and you will see two 10mm bolts holding it in place. When you open the passenger side front door, remove the panel on the side of the dash and you will see yellow connectors. The 1 closest to the front is attached to the air bag, it is clipped into the frame. Just pull it loose and take it out and your done. For the Driver side, it takes a skinny T27 to remove the two star bolts, then just disconnect the horn red clip and ground and install new airbag. The module is located under the passenger seat, underneath the carpet. Kinda stupid but thats where its at. You also need to replace the front impact sensor located behind the grille on the back side of the metal bar to each side. Follow the hood latch down. Also just to make sure, you know to disconnect the battery before you do all this. You don't want new airbags to accidentally deploy.

Abdiver:where the heck is the passenger side airbag switch and light located on my 1995 ford ranger

My 1994 F-150 doesn't have a passenger side airbag, and if the 1995 Ranger does have passenger airbags, it would not have a way to disable the passenger airbag until later models (after a bunch of kids got hurt by the airbags deploying). If I recall correctly that wasn't added until somewhere between 1999 and 2001.

Airbag alarm

This should be for the passenger side airbag. If an adult is sitting in the passenger side seat and there is a light that says airbag off then you have a problem either with the passenger side airbag or with the passenger side seat detector. Start up the car and sit in the passenger seat, buckle the seat belt and make sure the light now says airbag on. If this does not happen take car to dealer. Dealers have correct computers to enter the airbag modules to read and diagnose the fault code.

How to turn off the passenger airbag in a 1999 S430

There is no switch to turn it off. You will have to remove it and unplug it but that will kmake the airbag or SRS light stay on. I would not recommend disconnecting it.

How to Replace Air Bags for a 1999 HondaAccord

Hey there Henry,

Sorry to hear about your accident. Hope everyone is ok.
I worked at a wrecking yard where I pulled hundreds of airbags. I want you to understand, they can be dangerous if handled improperly.

Some warnings before you begin. Take these Seriously!!!
  • Alway wear safety glasses.
  • Control the environment - no kids, pets, people horsing around.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal. After you are done, make sure no one is inside the vehicle when you reconnect the battery. If your vehicle has an anti-theft system, you'll need to get your activation codes to reset your sound system.
  • Do not use solvents to clean your airbags. They may ignite if accidentally deployed. Use only a damp cloth.
  • Airbags are sensitive to heat in excess of 190 degrees F. Store them accordingly.
  • Airbags are sensitive to impact - handle them carefully
  • Airbags are sensitive to static electricity - ground yourself, Spray the seat and rug with fabric softener (anti-static - ever heard the term 'static cling')
  • Be safe
The procedures are pretty simple

Drivers Side:
  • Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  • Loosen and remove the retaining screws from behind the steering wheel. Rotate the wheel as needed to access the screws. You may need to purchase new retaining screws in advance to install the new bag.
  • Return the wheel to the straight ahead position.
  • Lift the airbag assembly out and disconnect the wiring connector from the rear of the unit.
  • Unwrap the new airbag (carefully).
  • Connect the the wiring connector and seat the airbag into the steering wheel. Be sure the wire doesn't get pinched.
  • Install the new retaining screws and tighten them securely.
Passenger side:
  • Loosen and remove the passenger side dash retaining screws
  • Move it downward to release the retaining clips and remove.
  • Unscrew the airbag retaining screws along the edge of the airbag.
  • Move the airbag assembly downward the release it fom its mounting pegs.
  • Remove the airbag from the dash, disconnecting the wire as soon as you are able. I believe your model has mounting guides, if so save them.
  • If there were guides, place them back into the mounting frame.
  • Position the airbag over the mounting frame and reconnect the wiring connector.
  • Mount the new airbag, securely tighten the retaining screws.
  • Remount the dash and screw it back in.
  • Make sure nobody is in the car
  • Reconnect the battery.
All done

One more time, be serious, be careful, be safe.

I hope this helps
Mike

Need to Install A Passenger Airbag in Hyundai Accent 2002

on the 2002 Accent we have, the area is clearly identified w/the "cutout" area and marked SRS Airbag...perhaps look at Hyundai.com at the owners' manual online, or look at used cars/junk yards to compare dash panels to yours...would think it VERY difficult for avg person to perform this task

I want to see if my airbags are on i cant find the swicth

hi,

. The drivers side airbag is always on no matter what, the passenger side airbag switch may be in the glove compartment, maybe get a chilton manual from the auto parts store to find it, or passenger side may just be on permanently, you may not have a choice. Call and ask too talk tor a mechanic at your local Ford dealership if all else fails.
