Battery may have broken plates in cells or cracked plates. May show battery is good , but i would replace it. Also, starter solenoid may be bad, replace starter as needed.
i found out that it grounds when u put it on the car so u dont need to hook anything to the ground connection. the power goes to the bigger connection. the feild is usually the longer wire of the 2 wires that are left. the third goes to the sta spot
the positive is the red wire the negative is black , they are also marked + for popsitive and - for negative. if they are not marked properly make sure thet the positive one goes to the starter or solenoid and alternator , just follows the wires back
Check all earth wires on all lights. most lights in cars run in series so if u loose one you loose the other mainly caused by bad earth on globe holders or corrosion where bulb sits. little sand paper goes a long way.
Some people have the dexterity to manipulate their arm and fingers to get behind the dash. I have done this with the digital speedometers when they went dim or out altogether. Pulling the cluster out really is not that difficult if you are mechanically savvy.
