The thermostatic spring on the thermostat will go to the coolant side or inside the intake manifold or away from the radiator hose.

It is fairly easy to do if you have a lift, but it is possible to do on the ground with a jack and jack stands. You will need to be able to unbolt both sides of the mount and support the engine with the jack while you replace the mounts. Les.. After trying everything else that made sense, I installed 2 new coil packs and have never had a misfire since.. I replaced both just to keep things even on both sides.. OCD, lol.....

Ur car is probably not engaging the forward drive, u need an expert to look at it, and also make sure the oil is not leaking and upto optimum level.
