IF REMOTE DOES NOT WORK AND YOUR ELECTRIC WINDOWS DO NOT WORK, IT IS FUSE NUMBER 14 WHICH IS BLOWN AND IT IS A 10 AMP FUSE REPLACEMENT!

Have had all of the above problems as well on my 92 Gti. its coming from your fuse box below your steering wheel. I doubt you could have blown so many fuse's at once so their prob just loose but would advise changing them anyway cos the metal starts to corrode after a while, and their cheap anyway..

You have a body short somewhere. If you don't own a meter to check the wiring. Start by looking in places that you are in the car the most. like the kick plate at the door or under the center console, under the seat,or inbetween where the door mount to the car. thing that would cause a wire to get skint. Happing hunting

You have a definite problem electrical. Get it checked quick because there may be a live wire cut and it could ignite or burn something out in the car.

fuses are usually in the glove box or under the drivers dash or under the drivers side hood either physically inspect every fuse by pulling them one by one or the aid of a test light and a good ground to the test light

Serious electrical problems wiv vw golf mk4 gti turbo yr 2000

I had a VW rabbit that developed mad electrical problems. It started when one day the headlights remained on and would not shut off. It turned out that a $2.00 gasket for the antenna wire had failed. This allowed road water from the wheel well to leak onto the fuse box. In time the fuse panel corroded and shorted out. I had to replace the fuse box twice and use rubber epoxy to seal the leak.
Check all fuses and electrical wiring for signs of shorts or corrosion.

Electrical issue

It might be a electrical wire shorting or bad.

I had solved a majority of my problems by getting my electrical system looked at (turned out a brake wire was bad, and several needed to be replaced.)

It turned out that disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it reset the control module and fixed the problem.
