Question about 1998 Chevrolet Tahoe
They break all the time. Pop the trim peice off around the handle. There are 3 tabs between the trim peice and the handle. Remove 2 screws in the arm rest of door where you grab it to close the door. Now it's best t o use a trim panel tool to pop the door panel off but a long screw driver will do in a pinch. Pop off triangle shaped peice by outside mirror first as it sits on top of door panel then the door panel. Once it's popped loose around sides and bottom it lifts off. Let it hang or unplug the wiring to completely remove. Should leave the broken handle. If it has not been replaced before it should have a silver rivet on the bottom side. Drill it out or cut the head off. Then push the handle assembly forward 1/2 inch and it should pull out. There will be 2 rods connected on the backside that should pull out. Re-install in reverse order. Some handles will have a screw to replace the rivet some won't, either way works.
