Tranny problem i have a 1997 saab 9000 turbo it runs fine for about an hour then the tranny seems to slip then the check engine light comes on and the car shuts off once the car cools off it runs ok for another hour or so

Both Auto Zone and Advance Auto carry the plugs you need for your Saab....you can check on-line for the store nearest you...if they don't have them in stock they can order them for you and you can usually get them the same day. I have never had a problem ordering plugs for my 1997 Saab 900S nor for the 1997 Saab 9000 and 1999 Saab 900SE that I work on for friends.....hope this helps.
Take it back to the Dealer........Their Problem not yours. It is possible that a plug was removed during the service and at some stage the ignition was switched on before the plug was reconnected , this would cause a check light and the computer would store this until the light was reset. Hope this helps.
It sounds like the timing chain self adjuster is not operating properly. This unit is internal and is oil fed by engine oil pump. Sometimes it can be remedied by replacing engine oil and filter, try 15x40 oil (for warm weather) or 5w30 (Cold climates)
