Question about 1999 Toyota Land Cruiser
The T-Belt warning light came on at 200,000 km. I have replaced the belt but don't know how to turn off the warning light.
I was told to look for a small rubber grommet on the instrument cluster, but there isn't one.
There is a button marked "U03" under the Km reset button, I have included a picture.
Is this the button I need to press or is there another method to reset the light?
Many Thanks, Nick.
SOURCE: how to reset timing belt
usually 2 options to reset toyota light.
1.remove small rubber plug in dash clear lense.use a long thin rod to reach in and push the small reset button at the bottom of the gauges.Light will extinguish.
2.remove the instrument panel and unplug all from behind to turn it over.Usually in the centre of the rear you will see two holes and 1 screw.for t-belt.shift the screw to other hole.refit dash ensuring all the plugs are refitted.Light should now be out.

If the same as my '94 cyl then you tighten the belt by loosening the bolt that the alternator pivots on and the bolt that tightens the alternator to it's adjustment bracket. For my truck this is neither fun nor easy. The a/c and power steering belts having idler pulleys with adjustments on them making them MUCH easier to deal with.

Firstly the no.1 piston should be at TDC (compression).
The upper camshaft sprocket has a smaller hole in the web. This should be lined up exactly with the TDC timing mark behind it on the cam bearing cap. In this position it will be vertically upwards.
At the same time the notch in the crankshaft pulley timing flange should be opposite the 0 degrees mark on the timing marks on the front of the lower belt cover.
