I had an 84 silverado & a 91 sonoma with the same problems. It was a ground wire. Make sure all body, & frame wires are Attatched, tight & clean of rust & corrosion, no frawed wires. Also make sure battery terminals are clean & tight. Good luck.
I Have a 1993 GMC sonoma, when I give it gas,and try to take off in 1st gear,it's like it wants to stall.I've did the full tune up on it ,even the fuel filter, and still can't figure out what the problem is.Can you please help,Thanks
have you disconect the positive battery cable .because it is hook to starter.if you have disconect battery cable.then the starter has a bracket holding it in place so you cant move it.
bottom rear of engine on the passenger side, the starter is serviced from under the car. it is held to the engine block with two bolts, then u must remove the battery cable and starter solenoid wiring as well, always disconnect the battery before doing any work on the starter.
The fuel pump is in the tank, tank can be droped out to chg.pump, Its up to you how you want to do it but for me i always found it easier to unbolt the bed and lift it back about a foot and i could get right at it, and i did not have to mess with the tank straps and fuel lines, If that is the problem. Chk.fuses and relay first.
