Mercedes tail lights and brake lights stopped working

I hope I'm wrong, but sounds like a wiring harness malfunction possibility. Back in the late 70's, I had a '67 VW van. At night, when I'd turn off the ignition the engine would turn off, as it should IF I TURNED OFF THE LIGHTS, BUT IF i TURNED THE LIGHTS BACK ON AS THE ENGINE WAS SHUTTING DOWN, THE ENGINE WOULD RESUME RUNNING.

My A/C only blows hot air, but the compressor does click on and off durning the time you have it on. The A/c will blow cool in the night time but not durning the hot part of the day.

When a car a/c is blowing hot air, the refrigerant cannot absorb the heat from the car passenger compartment.

This problem usually cause by a refrigerant leak or a clogged condenser.

If reduction of cold air from a/c system is steady, the possibility is that the refrigerant is slowly leaking out of the hose or seal.

Other reason is a clogged condenser but this is only a contributing factor.

No Brake Lights?!?

There is brake light switch located under the dash. It is inserted in a metal bracket that is a part of the brake pedal assembly. When you depress the brake pedal the pedal arm moves away from the brake switch allowing a spring loaded plunger to move out of the switch. As the plunger moves out of the switch a set of contacts close in the switch and turn the brake lights on.

You stated the 10amp under hood brake light fuse is good so check to see if you have power on the "orange" wire at the brake switch with pedal all the way up. Then press the pedal down and you should have power on the " light blue" wire going out of the switch.

We will start there, let me know what you find.

1995Sev Rear Tail & Brake Light "Possessed" & Mostly not working

if the hi mount brake lamp lights up then it is not the brake lamp switch, the other brake lamp wiring runs from the brake lamp switch through the turn signal switch. i would check all the light bulbs and sockets first because these cars like to burn out the grounds in the socket. i was a tech at a cadillac dealership for ten years, also had a 95 sts myself with the same problem. if that doesnt work then look toward the turnsignal switch and the wiring.

Problem with Automatic Daytime Running Lights

Have you verified both high beams are in working order? DRL's are very funny about not working if one of the lights is burned out. Rememeber that DRL's are only high beams using 20% of the power so just because your normal lights work, it does not mean the high beams are working correctly.
