Question about 2002 Suzuki XL-7

1 Answer

AIR CON We changed the compressor a year ago and we still noticed that the fun belt is squeaking when we tried to open the aircon especially when the temperature is high or we have a hot weather. They check the belt already and they put belt conditioner but we still hear this squeaky sound.

I have the same problems but just recently the ac stopped blowing cold air and the belt stopped squeeling at the same time. I've had it pressure tested and it was not low on coolant. I also had the belt checked and it was fine, everything turns and the ac clicks on but only blows hot air. I don't want to have to drop another $1000 for a new compressor. Are there any recalls on this part because this seems to be a common problem?

Air con cool for a few days then won't get cool, stop and restart all good

Cars for years have been using a serpentine belt. The compressor only works if the belt is spinning. With the engine running check to make sure the belt is spinning consistently. The alternator or the water pump could be seizing up causing the belt to stop. Check your idler as well. Tension on the belt could be loose and again not turning everything.

My 2005 Audi A4 engine have idling problem when aircon is on

Sounds like the compressor is failing or seized (for the air con). This would put extra pressure on the system. It could be another fault with the air con system like the solenoids not opening up to allow the flow of gas in the system.

Vt aircon compressor wont engage

check the freon, if there isn't enough it won't engage, could also be the low pressure switch or a fuse.

I have a 98 dodge caravan, and when you turn on the air con it makes a loud noise like the engine is going to fall out. But after u go above 1500 rpms it goes away.

check if the drive belt that runs the aircon and the water pump is not too loose. When aircon comes on it might be overloading the engine but once the engine picks up things seem to go ok. Alternatively the compressor bearing might be failing.

The power steering fluid level is low or the v-belt tension needs adjusting. Its not likely to be the aircon comp.Look at the v-belt.Adjust if needed and also see its not cracked or too shiny that would allow slipping. If in doubt, replace it.It will be the problem.Hope this helps
