Question about 2000 Pontiac Grand Am GT
Where is it located
The 3.4L V6 doesnt have a dipstick either. If you remove the air filter box you will see a red cap to remove so you can add fluid, but there is no dipstick.

I may be wrong but I was told that there is a check point near the bottom of the transmission. Next time you go for an oil change ask them to check the transmission fluid. I asked and they did it for me. Normally you do not need to. If there is a problem your "Have engine serviced soon" light will come on which will give a code for whatever the problem is.

There isn't one. at least on cars with the quad 4 engine. i had the same problem years ago and called the dealership to talk to a mechanic. i was told that there isn't one and the only way to check it was bring it in to them. there is a sensor that reads the level. if you have a good diagnostic scan tool like a Genisys, you can use it to check the level. unless you get a warning light for it, it doesn't need to be checked. you should have your (AT)transmission's fluid and filter changed every 60k miles.

a 6ya Mechanic can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Mechanic (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
