Question about 2003 Ford Crown Victoria
The front passenger window will not go up or down. I hear the motor trying to raise the window. I think it is the regulator. As a temporary fix I just want to raise the window and lock it in place. How do I do this?
The gears may be stripped. In any case you may be able to raise the window by hand by pulling it up and, on the cheap and easy, duct tape the window up (it's already broke you can't make it too much worse unless you break the glass). If you can't just pull it up you will have to take the door apart and check out what's really going on ... Try to push it up by hand from inside the door and see what the problem is. Be very carefull if you should try to run the window with the motor never put your hands in a place that they could be mangled by the motor or the movement of the window if it should 'catch'... You can also prop the window up from inside the door with a vice grip or a piece of wood of the correct length.
