Have a problem with the car missing and loss of power after about an hour of running. Put the code reader on it and it says it is one tooth out of time. checked timing and its correct. Believe it might be the computer, cam sensor, or crank sensor. Would like to hear from others and see if they may have had the same problem with a 98 plymouth Neon.

I have the same car, it did the same thing to me. Pull your spark plugs and see if there is any oil on them. The oil could be coming up and killing the spark plugs. I also had to replace the spark plug wires. Very Easy Fix, Hope this helps.

Hi there

This problem could be caused by the idling settings, if you know how to set your idling settings, turn it up a little bit, if you don't i would suggest that you take it to a workshop and ask them to turn the idling up, this shouldn't cost you too much money. Please also remember to give this solution a good rating.

Kind regards - Hope you solve this problem!

My 1997 Honda accord ex,sometimes, after driving it awhile, it acts like it is running out of gas and studders. It only happens when I make a stop or wait for a traffic signal. Once,I accelerate it runs...

If you get rough idling or the tachometer needle does not stay in one place when idling then you may have a dirty or faulty idle air control valve. This is a common cause of the problem you are describing. Other issues could be dirty MAF sensor or loose wires or vacuum hose.

TPS? Car studders at low speeds when climbing hills

YOU HAVE A TORQUE CONVERTER LOCKUP ISSUE, HAVE SOMEONE LIKE THE DEALER,AUTO ZONE OR IF YOU ARE HANDY CHECK FOR CODES, NO CODES....THEN TAKE THE CAR OUT STEADY DRIVE AT AROUND 45 MPH, GENTLY HIT THE BRAKE PEDAL JUST ENOUGH TO MAKE THE REAR BRAKE LIGHTS GO ON BUT NOT HARD ENOUGH TO STOP THE CAR...DO YOU FEEL THE CONVERTER SHIFT IN AND OUT EACHJ TIME THE BRAKE PEDAL IS TOUCHED MAINTAINING A STEADY 45 MPH SPEED, IF IT THAT SAME SHUDDER YOU ARE FEELING THE TORQUE CONVERTER NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, NOT AN EASY JOB AS THE TRANSMISSION HAS TO BE REMOVED TO GET AT IT.SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS.......

My minivan was acting like it wasn't getting enough gas, shop said they couldn't find anything wrong with it. now it will cut off while im driving down the road....will also cut off when i put it in...

I bet what the shop did was look for a code in the computer. In the past shops actually looked for the problem based on symptoms now they want the onboard computer to "tell" them what to fix. You need a better mechanic! Maybe your fuel system is dirty or you have a failing fuel pump. Hard to fix on a laptop.

Car studders/shakes when brakes are pressed,

No, it is not anything to do with the gas. Most likely cause is a vaccum leak look at your brake booster. open the hood look at the fire wall right in front of where you sit. The brake booster will have a hose comming out of it going to the engine this hose is loose or has a hole in it. when you step on the brake it **** air causing the engine to trun off sometimes.
