I have 1998 ford explorer eddie bauer edition 5.0 all wheel drive.. it started with a really bad whinning noise it actually sounded like big mudd grips while driving now it has turned into feeling like i have a flat and is clunking when i turn it certain ways and when i put it in reverse and back strait up the clunking gets even worse please help

I'm guessing by the year that you have pretty high mileage on your SUV. If that is the case then you will probably need to rebuild front end. that should take care of the problem. Good luck.
sounds strange. have you checked to see if you have an exhaust leak? you also may be hearing the first clues to your catylitic converter starting to break down. Check for an exhaust leak first and let us know how it looks. Thanks
