I have a license plate holder with light that I bought from a third party. I do not have a back bumper so I am using the existing lights wire to hook to the new license plate light. here is the problem: the truck has two wires going to the bulb, I only have one wire coming from this new light. I am assuming that the two wires are a positive from the battery and wire to the switch, can I tie these two together on the one line? or do I only require the positive wire? need assistance.

I would get a voltmeter, hold the black ground wire to the chassis, turn on the lights and touch the red hot wire from the voltmeter briefly to each one of your wires. which ever one of them gives you 12 volts is the one to attach to your new light unit. If there is no voltage on the other wire then it is most likely the ground to attach to the mounting hardware for your light. you can check that by using the voltmeter's ohms resistance function and seeing if it and the chassis are a dead short.

2002 Cadillac Escalade I want to remove only the bumper cover to get to the license plate assembly so i can remove and add new ones.

To remove the bumper cover on a 2002 Cadillac Escalade to access the license plate assembly, you'll need some basic tools and follow these steps:
**Note:** Be sure to take necessary safety precautions, and if you're uncomfortable doing this yourself, consider consulting a professional mechanic.
1. **Gather Tools and Materials:**
- Screwdrivers
- Socket set
- Pliers
- Trim removal tool (or flathead screwdriver)
2. **Raise the Vehicle:**
- For easier access, you can raise the front end of your vehicle using a jack and support it with jack stands.
3. **Remove the Wheel Well Liners (Optional):**
- Depending on your vehicle and access, you may need to remove the wheel well liners to reach the bumper attachment points. These are typically held in place with plastic clips or screws.
4. **Remove Retaining Clips and Screws:**
- Locate and remove the screws, clips, or fasteners holding the bumper cover in place. These are typically found along the top and sides of the bumper.
- Use a trim removal tool or a flathead screwdriver to carefully pry out the clips.
5. **Disconnect Fog Lights (if applicable):**
- If your vehicle has fog lights integrated into the bumper cover, disconnect the wiring harnesses.
6. **Detach the Bumper Cover:**
- Carefully start detaching the bumper cover from the vehicle by gently pulling it away. Work your way around the bumper to release the clips or fasteners.
7. **Remove the License Plate Assembly:**
- Once the bumper cover is loosened, you should have access to the license plate assembly.
- Remove the screws or fasteners securing the license plate assembly, and detach it from the bumper cover.
8. **Install the New License Plate Assembly:**
- Attach the new license plate assembly to the bumper cover, using the same screw holes or fasteners.
9. **Reattach the Bumper Cover:**
- Align the bumper cover properly, and carefully push it back into place, making sure it clips securely.
10. **Reattach Retaining Clips and Screws:**
- Put back the screws and retaining clips in their respective locations along the top and sides of the bumper cover.
11. **Reconnect Fog Lights (if applicable):**
- Reconnect the wiring harnesses for the fog lights.
12. **Reinstall Wheel Well Liners (if removed):**
- If you removed the wheel well liners, reinstall them and secure them with the clips or screws.
13. **Lower the Vehicle:**
- Carefully lower your vehicle from the jack stands if you raised it.
Remember to take your time, work carefully, and document the disassembly process if necessary. If you're unsure about any step, it's always a good idea to consult your vehicle's repair manual or seek professional assistance.

2005 pontiac grandam se how to change license plate bulb

There will be one of two ways to remove the holder from rear panel.
Get down to ground level and look up at the light lense. Version one will be two screws or bolts, one each side of the light lense. Version two is a push fit. There will be small notch where you can Gently hook the lense out with a small flat screwdriver.
The bulb holder is usually a twist fit. Try turning it Anti clockwise about a third of a turn.
The bulb is a push fit so using a small piece of rag 'Carefully' pull the old bulb out. Again with the piece of rag, push the new bulb in. **Note** when you push the bulb in, when you feel resistance STOP! Breaking the bulb is a pain in the **** to deal with.
Twist the bulb holder back in place, refit the lense. Job done.

Tag light is not working. is there a fuse that will get the light turned back on?

The fuse labeled REAR PARK LP 15A in the right instrument panel fuse box powers the rear park lamps, and the tag lamps. If your rear park lamps are working then you most likely need to replace the tag lamps (bulbs). Use the following procedure to replace the lamps.

To Remove:
  1. Remove the two mounting screws from the license plate lamp.
  2. Remove the license plate lamp from the rear bumper fascia.
  3. Remove the license plate lamp socket by turning it counterclockwise.
To Install:
  1. Install the license plate lamp socket by turning it clockwise.
  2. Position the license plate lamp to the rear bumper fascia.
  3. Install the license plate lamp mounting screws.

Tail lights dont work

Oh boy, Chevy uses 3 important wires to make up their tail light harness. Brown is used for your parking lights and yellow and green are your signal and brake light wires, yellow one side, green the other. You have some seriously crossed wires. Start with tracing the lic plate lite since that works. Make sure it leads into your main parking lights and the ground wires from these tail lites aren't cut. The lic place lite will work with just power because the body of the lite is grounded with the bumper. Then make sure that there is power to the signal wires. You can do this with a test light and the signal light switched on. You don't need anyone to step on the brakes since it's the same signal, only interepted. Most importantly, Remove the tail lites and check grounds!! Good luck

Reverse lights and license plate light dont work

Try link below, may point you in right direction, but you'll have to scroll down & find what you need. Otherwise I'd start from bumper with test light & work my way back toward front harness, after all fuses, plugs etc been checked.
