The cheapest and easiest ways to increase HP is intake and exhaust. Swapping a whole motor is a lot of work that comes with many headaches. A good aftermarket cold air intake will add 5-10 HP and you can bolt it in quick and easy. And putting on a good free flowing exhuast can add up to 25HP. Basically the intake allows more air into the motor creating more power, and if you get more air in you are gonna want that exhaust to get the air flowiing back out. So for a few hundred bucks you can get your car performing and sounding great.

Hope this helps.
And yes a 350 would fit, however you will need to swap your tranny to accept the 350 motor. Alot of work if you ask me.

What year is this engine? and ci

From this chart - I think you may be misreading the number - 3970010 is possibly the actual number: Which makes the engine pretty old 68-72 350 V8 - 4 bolt main. I included past this number so that you can see that the number you posted doesn't actually exist. And thus my conclusion that the 9 is most likely a 0. I have a lt 1 engine in a 94 z 28 that i want to install in a 92 corvette that once had a lt 1 engine i was told that it would be easier to go back with a carburator than to change out the wiring etc...

This will take some time ether way. I would rather go with the carb. but I'm old school. You can keep the Electronics and fuel injection from the Vette and reinstall on to the Camaro engine. Basic same engine. If you do not have a engine in the Vette to swap parts off of, then go with a good Edelbrock manifold and carb. This will be the easiest to set up and keep in tune. Its Christmas and family needs to know all your wants, it'll be easy to tell them. Manifold, Carb. & time to do it, plus a little help with the gas.

I want to swap my 4.3 for a 350 and keep same tranny should there be any problem and what year 350 would be best and cheapest

You shouldn't have any trouble bolting up to your existing transmission. I would try to get an engine from as close to your 1993 as possible because you will have to bring the computer with it and that would cut down on a lot of potential wiring splicing.
I would also give serious thought to using a 305 instead of a 350. You will only lose about 20 HP but it will be noticably better on gas mileage, especially if you are going to use it as a daily driver. Hope this helps.

Taking a 93 camaro front clip and installing it on

That is not even close to just bolting right up.If you want a camaro clip in your old truck you should use a clip from a 70 to 81 camaro. The subframes come out easy and are a fairly easy weld in as they are close to the same width as your truck frame. If you are not a skilled welder or fabricator you should just rebuild your truck front end,as this is NOT a job for a novice mechanic.A 93 camaro does not have a removable subframe like an older camaro they just have an engine cradle type frame that bolts up into the camaro not a frame that will work in your truck.

Want to swap motor with a 1993 gmc 350

faxonautoliterature has a manual specifically for swapping newer GM engines inot older GM vehicles for about $25. It should answer any questions you might have but experience says it shouldn't be hard to do. Your old intake and carb and an HEI distributor and you should be good to go. Hope this helps.

I have a Irco 350 TPI engine that I want to swap into a

you can run this motor carburated if you want by purchasing an after market conversion intake and carburator setup. if you want to leave it fuel injected you will need to swap wiring harnes and everything, computers and sensors you will have to run manual guages for the temp sensors and oil pressure guage and alternator due to your speedo being unable to accept them.

I would like to replace my 2.3 prelude engine with another to fit

You can go on eBay and get an f22b DOHC (non-Vtec). They are about $300. less and have the same 160 HP. All you really need to do is swap your intake (because you want every vacuum hose going back to it's original position and the JDM fuel rail is on the wrong side compared to us in the US). You'll need your old engine's wiring harness because theirs are cut out and you don't know if you're getting a motor that was automatic or manual. Certainly keep your old engine right beside you as you do the swap because you'll need your distributor since you don't know if theirs had an external coil or internal coil. I've had 3 of these JDM motors in my racecar, it's the same power, just seems like the peak HP is later in the rev, like maybe less torque but more top end.

Swap a 86 350 into a 91 camaro with a 305 TBI

good idea, use 350 block,305 heads &intake.the reason is, if the 91 305 heads are 4 bolts in center of valve cover the are what you call vortec heads, they have better flow.the tbi will respond better &still have bettergas milage than old style heads.the 350 block will add more overall shouldnt have any problems doing so,you will notice a diff.have fun, good luck.
