Question about 2001 GMC Yukon Denali

1 Answer

Dying while in motion

It happens at low speeds, usually pulling into a parking space, or the gas station. The car just dies, which is scary, because you basically lose brakes and steering. I'm worried I'll be traveling downhill at a greater speed, not notice the car has died (it runs quiet and the radio is on/kids talking) and go to turn a corner and uh, nope, go straight into an oncoming car or off a cliff. Anyone else had this issue? Had a mechanic look at it, couldn't find anything wrong..someone suggested trying premium gas..tried it for a month...no luck. It is a very intermittent problem, not often (maybe once every 2-3 wks, or not for a month, then 2x in one day) Can't figure it out..help!

We had the same thing happen. Took to GMC mechanic who cleaned injectors and set idle up. Seems to work fine.

The car is all on normal condition until I filled the gasoline to the fuel tank (over the standard value) ,I left the gas station suddenly the speed goes down then the engine stopped , I try to ignition...

You overfilled the tank and screwed up the fuel vent canister. Usually the car will not run, dies while idling, or surges if you try to drive, also if you try to fill up again you might find it difficult to fill your tank fast because the canister is not venting the tank

Why does my 1995 pathfinder die when gas is not pressed?

The engine is fuel injected, so no carburetor.
Usually the problem is a dirty throttle body, faulty IAC valve, or other component.
The computer uses the idle air control valve to adjust the idle speed.
