Driver window works intermittently when closing

ONLY HAPPENS WHEN TRYING TO CLOSE WINDOW.
How Problem Started........Driver window would close partially and then after 10 minutes it would close a little more. Eventually it would close all the way. It was like it was on a time delay circuit. This happened for months, progressively taking longer to close (only close - roll down fine) and now it will not close at all. I removed the power window switches on driver side and tried to jump across (removing the switch from the operation). No luck getting any window to move because I don't have a schematic. Any thoughts.

I had this problem and as time went on it got worse. Eventually I couldn't use the window at all. Took it to the dealer and it needed a new fuse. I haven't had a problem since.

Try first to unplug the part "close" of the driver side switch (can be shorted and therefore permanently closes window) and then open window with "open" switch.

Possibly a faulty driver door switch. There is a function tied to switch allowing driver to open or close all windows through door switch.

Hi! You may want to start spraying contact cleaners on the control switches. If these switches are seldomly used this issues happens. Try it and see how it goes. Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa!

Power window open partially with inside or outside

inside the mechanical lock (The part that actualy holds the door shut when you close it) there is a switch that informs the control unit that the lock is either locked or unlocked.
These switches fail sometimes, when this happens the control unit is not aware that you have opened the door, and therefor will not wind the window down slightly.
The switch is integral with the lock unit, and they are not easy things to replace either.
