Try to find the speedo-cable from the firewall down the the transmission. Usually on auto trannys the speedo head (the signal generator which is a gear basicly) is located on the top of the tranny, of course attached to the speedo cable. If it's a 'drive by wire' car and there's no cable - it will require more investigation.

I have an 89 honda prelude when engine warms up a blinking warning light appears. It is the same light that appears when my speedometer stops working. Can you tell me what it is trying to tell me? thank...

It sounds tempature related I would check the engine coolant tempature sensor Its going to be near the upper radiator hose where it attaches to the engine block a false reading from this sensor could screw up other systems abiblty to give correct readings to the vehicle control system and cause a lot of unasual unrelated problems to acure If you can i would seggest that you take it to an auto parts store most will read the codes for free although you have what is called an OBD 1 SYSTEM on board dianostic system OBD 11 is the newer system its likely a sensor and you will likely be able to fix it for under 50 dollars mabey 20 Good luck with it

The D4 transmission light is flashing, the speedometer quit, and the check engine light came on. Fluid is good, and it shiftd fine into all gears. What could be the problem

The D4 light is a transmission code light for those cars probbly reading the speedometer going out and the check engine light the same. Have the codes checked or simply replace it. Here is one of many places to find it (just to give you a price range) http://www.bing.com/shopping/search?q=92%20prelude%20speedomotor&qpvt=92+prelude+speedomotor     best of luck

99 Honda Accord EX V6 check engine light comes on and blinks ten times when I start the car along with the SRS light being on for a short period of time. The other problem has been the car shutting off...

Your vehicle may be part of a 2002 honda/acura recall. Faulty ignition switch!! Typical symptoms are: Random stalls, hard start, no spark, power loss (symptoms progress in hotter weather). When the vehicle stalls/shuts off while in motion, usually the speedometer drops to "0" while in motion. Some warning light not lit when ignition is set to "on" (chk engine/ABS/Brake etc.). Call your local dealer with your VIN# on hand and check if your vehicle is part of the recall. Refer to faulty ignition switches, affected years (1998-2002 models), accords/preludes/pilot/Odyssey/Civic/CR-V and various Acura models.

S3 light starts blinking after driving around for a little while. I also notice the speedometer will stop working and then starts back working. When I turn off the ignition this clear the blinking S3...

The transmission's electronic control module is most likely bad I had a 1989 prelude that had the same issue I had to replace the TCM on it after the S3 light came on but my problem was a problem shifting, if you have a electronic speed sensor for the trans. and not a speedometer cable the speed sensor may be bad if you have the cable type change the TCM (transmission control module)
